Summer Camp Descriptions
June 11 – 15 Fairy Tale Theater
Explore theater through famous tales from the works of Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson and other well know Fairy Tales. Be part of telling the story of Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and other famous tales.
June 18 – 22 Theater Around the World
Campers will go on a worldwide tour of theatrical styles. They will learn about different cultures and develop an end of the week showcase of what they learned.
June 25-29 Improv Camp
Are you quick witted and funny? Do you want to work on being hilarious? Improv camp is a great place to learn how to work with others, learn comic timing and performance skills.
July 2 – July 6 Puppetry Arts and Makeup Disguise
The world of puppets and theatrical makeup will be the focus of this camp. Campers will learn how to work puppets as props and actors on stage and transform themselves into different people.
July 9 – July 13 All The World’s a Stage
Shakespeare and all his works made accessible to children of all ages. Campers will see why The Bard has been around for over 400 years and use his work to make their acting even better.
July 16 – July 20 Musical Theater Camp
Broadway and Off Broadway shows will be examined in this intensive as the student learn a little bit of singing, dancing and acting for a Broadway Extravaganza at the end of the week.
July 23 – 27 Acting 101
New and Experienced Young Actors will delve into the process of acting. Actors will learn audition skills, learn age appropriate monologues and work on acting skills. At the end of the week presentation, actors will perform their monologues.
July 30 – August 3 Skit Factory
Campers will develop comedic and dramatic skits. They will learn how to perform short skits for maximum impact, have fun doing it and possible create their own material. At the end of the week presentation, campers will perform their skits.
August 6 – August 10 Techie Camp
This camp will expose campers to costuming, set construction and painting. Campers will have the opportunity to work with lights and sound systems of the theater and learn how TECHIES make stage productions happen. At the end of the week, all the achievements of the week will be presented in a Tech Specatcular.
