Character List/Descriptions
Fern Arable- a compassionate young girl; she forms a deep bond with Wilbur, the pig. She plays a pivotal role in the story, symbolizing innocence, love, and loyalty.
John Arable - a practical and caring farmer, grounded in responsibility; his actions show a subtle emotional depth, especially toward his family and the farm.
Martha Arable - Fern’s practical and nurturing mother, focused more on everyday farm life than emotional bonds with animals.
Avery Arable - Fern's playful and mischievous older brother, often teasing her and showing less interest in the animals.
Homer Zuckerman - a determined and somewhat stubborn farmer who owns Wilbur after Fern sells him
Edith Zuckerman - Homer’s wife; a practical and somewhat reserved woman. She is supportive of her husband and plays a background role in the farm’s daily life.
Lurvy - the Zuckermans' hired hand; hardworking and a bit gullible. He is devoted to the farm but often provides comic relief with his straightforward, sometimes clueless nature.
Wilbur - a lovable, innocent pig with a big heart. He is curious, kind, and deeply values his friendships, especially with Charlotte, as he navigates the challenges of farm life.
Templeton - a selfish, gluttonous, and somewhat unhelpful rat who, despite his negative traits, occasionally helps Charlotte and Wilbur, often motivated by self-interest.
Charlotte - a wise, kind, and selfless spider in Charlotte’s Web. She forms a deep bond with Wilbur and uses her intelligence and creativity to help save him, demonstrating love and friendship through her actions.
Goose - a friendly, talkative, and somewhat anxious character in Charlotte's Web. She is often seen chatting with others and is protective of her surroundings, but her nervous nature sometimes leads to comical situations.
Gander - the anxious and somewhat irritable mate of Goose in Charlotte’s Web. He is loyal but easily flustered, often adding a humorous touch to the farm’s dynamics with his nervous energy.
Sheep - calm and wise; offers simple, no-nonsense advice to Wilbur. Sheep provides quiet support and a sense of peace on the farm.
Lamb - a young, innocent character in Charlotte's Web. He is sweet and naïve, adding to the farm's peaceful atmosphere with his gentle nature and simple perspective on life.
Ensemble - various roles such as: the 1st/2nd/3rd members who serve to narrate the story, reporter, photographer, spectators, judges, fairgoers, announcer, uncle(a pig), spiders, etc.
